STU's 2nd Annual International Poetry Festival Poetry April 2025
Welcome to STU’s English Department Poetry festival! We're excited to see the creativity and talent our Bobcats bring to the table.
St. Thomas University’s English Department is hosting its second annual International Poetry Festival. The festival will take place on April 16th, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. outside of Mimi Dooner Hall. This exciting event will feature engaging poetic activities and carnival food such as popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, and refreshments. There will also be appearances and open mic performances by professional poets who will share their work with our Bobcats! Our aim for this festival is to provide a platform for students and faculty to foster their creativity and explore their voices in the poetry realm.
“We’re committed to creating a space for STU Bobcats to express and embrace their creativity,” said Professor Zoraida Pastor, the event organizer. “The Poetry Festival will provide an inclusive environment for everyone to feel welcome and participate in sharing their thoughts and feelings through poetry.”

Throughout the event, students will have various opportunities to engage in a variety of activities throughout the festival to enhance their creative writing skills. There will also be an easter egg hunt during the event for all attendees to participate in. We encourage all STU Bobcats to attend and take part in the various activities, and network with professional poets and experts.
Our mission and goal for the festival is to create a deeper understanding and appreciation of poetry, literature, and creativity across the St. Thomas University campus. We’re encouraging students to express their emotions and personal experiences. By creating this creative environment, the festival strives to strengthen the campus community and celebrate the art of poetry.

We encourage you to let your creativity flow and express yourself through your poetry. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our festival orginizer at [email protected] or our magazine sponsor at Kwolfe@stu.edu
