A story about Brunno

I have been trying to find the best words to talk about you, but all I have is feelings, those ones that you can’t describe, you know? I contacted 2 of your friends that I knew would tell me stories, that would help me do this speech, and while I was listening to the audios and watching the videos they had. It felt that you were there next to me laughing at them just the way I was. Specially(c.s.) when Theo told this one story that you were a little fat at the time and had a plate of French fries in your hands, and coach asked you “Brunno do you really think you should be eating that?” And you answered “Coach, for me to score goals I need to look like the ball.”

It doesn’t matter how many times I listen to that story, I laugh every single time, because itshows you, exactly how you used to be, funny and happy.

I wish I could tell you how thankful I am for every time you would play soccer with me. Howyou would wake up every Sunday at 7 a.m. to teach me how to improve my skills.
You are the reason I love this sport; you wanted me to be like you, but I'll never be half of the soccer player you were. There is no Cristiano or Messi for me, just you! The best soccer player I have ever met, and I know that for sure because after you passed, your college made an award in your honor. The best offensive player receives the Brunno colon award with one of the best quotes that you said:

“We can never stop believing that it is going to come, and it came once again.”

I wish you knew how that quote changed my life, how I always repeat it in my head when I’m not going so well. You taught me how to love me, and most importantly how being intense and having a strong personally is something to be proud of.

Thank you for always watching my games, and for always making the sky pretty every time I have practice and games. I was just going to ask you to make it less hot, please? As I like to say, life is like a soccer game, the first 5-10 minute are not the best since you are learning how the other teams play, and that defines us. Our first 15 minutes were not the best, but our 80-90 minutes, man they were amazing. I just wish we could have overtime…

I love you, I'll keep going for you.
